ECG Season 13 - the triumphant podium!
Under the spotlight of Japan Expo’s main stage, talented artists from the farthest corners of the globe brought their A-game for the 2025 edition of the ECG. After careful deliberation by the jury, the winners claimed their place on the podium, along with the prestigious prizes awarded by the event’s loyal sponsors.
The Extreme Cosplay Gathering (ECG) is the must-see event for all cosplay lovers!
On Saturday, July 5th, talents from over 20 countries battled it out under the lights and flames of the Ichigo stage for the final of the 13th season!
This year, the contestants wowed both the audience and the jury — made up of renowned cosplayers CutiePieSensei, Spicy Thai Design, Vye, Yugoro, and Yuji Koi.
After deliberation, here’s their verdict and the podium:
- 3rd place: Team Switzerland, with Gen, Asura, and Rinn as Kenshin Hiruma, Seta Sojiro, and Makoto Shishio straight from Rurouni Kenshin. An intense showdown straight out of the Kyoto arc!
- 2nd place: Team Netherlands, with LinkeLizzy and Fissagod brilliantly portraying Aang and Kyoshi from Avatar: The Last Airbender. A performance full of energy and emotion!
- 1st place: French Cosplayer Corneline took home the grand prize this edition!
Enchanting the crowd with her portrayal of Anna Henrietta from The Witcher. A magical show that won everyone over!
Beyond the three countries already mentioned, other standout talents were recognized with awards in unique and specialized categories!
- Best Wig: The award goes to TinYasuo, a skilled Danish cosplayer, for his flamboyant portrayal of Sir Sparklepuff from The Dragon Prince.
- Alumni Favorite: The Polish duo Talon & Bish captured the judges’ hearts with a striking performance as the Crusader and Plague Doctor from the depths of Darkest Dungeon II.
