Meeting with the Italian representative
It’s now up to the Italian solo representative to tell us more about her feelings about the selections and especially the upcoming finals!
How do you feel about the upcoming ECG Finals?
Nadiask: Coming to Japan Expo as Italian Representative is always a great emotion and responsibility. This is the first time for me in solo and I can't wait to be there. I'm happy also to share this experience with the team: two great cosplayers and friends as Elektra and Josey!
I'm working hard to finish all the costumes and be prepared on stage, but when I will put my feet on the plane (or train) to come in Paris I will only think to totally live the experience.
Why did you decide to make this character for the selections?
Nadiask: Elphaba from Wicked means a lot for me. Honestly when I've started to make it I didn't think to win something... My dream was to bring her on Japan Expo to give her a GREAT stage with lights, screens... independently by ECG. I've worked on her costume a lot and her performance too. The first time I've seen the Musical in London, I've told that one day, in future, I defeated the gravity with her on stage. People thought that I was crazy. But that was my dream. So I've worked hard to do it! Try the ECG selection was a natural step and I was so happy when I've won. I really didn't expect all this success.
Which part of your costume are you the proudest of?
Nadiask: I've studied a lot to make Elphy. When you make costumes that already exist in reality, it is harder. The comparison is brutal. You can't make errors. Elphaba's costume in particular changes with the actress, so I've tried to figure out the one more similar to me as body. It was really funny searching all the fabric (there are more than 100 different types). Not so funny cut and sewed more than 500m of them. But I love her. So I was happy every time I was working on it and I feel happy every time I wear this costume.
Can you give us a hint about what you’re planning to do for the Finals?
Nadiask: I think it is obvious what I would like to bring on stage, but I could have some problem with it, so will be no one.
